Under itsTerm Loan Scheme  the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation of India under the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs provides loans up to Rs 20 lakhs to minority businessmen at 6% per annum (fixed) interest on reducing balance method for five years provided  individual beneficiary puts in margin money at 5% of project cost. Details are available at www.minorityaffairs.gov.in  In Self Help Groups each minority individual can get loan upto Rs 1 Lakh at interest rate 7% (fixed)

 But Hindu businessmen get business loans from commercial banks at much higher interest rates and more stringent terms, floating interest rates, higher margin money, requirements of  tangibles collaterals, property documents etc. Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) owned by Hindus get loans from the State bank of India for expansion of business or setting up new enterprises at 7.65% per annum (floating)  starting from Rs 50000/ to a few crores. SME loans are given by SBI at interest rates staring from 9.65% (floating). SBI charges interests  ranging between 11.2% to 16.3% on other business loans for one to four years repayment period, loan amount from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 100 crores. Other banks charge higher interest rates. Interest rates keep changing from time to time.

 It is proposed that all businesses owned by Hindus shall get loans upto Rs 20 lakh at the same terms as given by the Government of India to minority beneficiaries through the window of NMDFC and excess interest paid over NMDFC rates in the past shall be refunded to Hindu businessmen by the Government of India. Similarly in case of loans from commercial banks Hindu businessmen shall be refunded excess interests charged from them over minority businessmen. Interested entities may register on this portal so that it may be taken up with the Government of India. Democratic weight of representation of the Foundation shall increase as more businessmen register with this portal
