Pension is not earned by a pensioner for doing any work, physical or mental, for his ex-employer during a financial year but it is paid to him for services rendered in the past before one retired. Pension amount is much less than the last pay received. Therefore pension cannot be placed on the same pedestal as normal income. The Foundation proposes to approach the Union Government of India to make all government pensions (civil and military) exempt from income tax and the Foundation may endorse only those candidates in Parliamentary elections who promise to get it implemented if elected. Pensioners who agree may enroll on this portal. Larger the number of pensioners on this portal more will be democratic weight of our petition.
